Lent: a season of opportunity

Well, Lent is here! The PIME Missionaries would like to be a part of your Lenten journey.

Those of you in the Detroit area can mark your calendars with some upcoming events.

Lenten Talks
Fr. Dino Vanin and Fr. Sergio Fossati, both PIME priests here in Detroit, will be giving a series of Lenten Talks at St. Bernardine of Siena in Westland.

Each talk will be held on Wednesday evening. For more information, call the church at (734)427-5150.

February 24th: God’s hidden messages in our distractions while we pray. (Fr. Dino)
March 3rd: Lectio Divina, a most ancient way of praying with God’s Word. (Fr. Dino)
March 10th: Beginning new patterns during Lent. (Fr. Sergio)
March 17th: How to live in the freedom Christ won for us in His Blood. (Fr. Dino)
March 24th: Reconciliation and Healing. (Fr. Sergio)

Soup’s On!
PIME Missionary Medical Relief will kick-off a year long celebration of their 50 years of service in the missions with a Soup Luncheon on Tuesday, March 23 from 11:30 AM until 1:30 PM here at our headquarters in Detroit. In the spirit of Lent, visitors will enjoy a simple meal and enjoy a talk on the work of PIME given by Fr. Sergio, who recently visited Asia. There is no cost to attend – just email events@pimeusa.org to let us know you will be coming!

Please keep the PIME Missionaries, who live Lenten sacrifices throughout the year, in your prayers this season.

  1. Since I no longer live in the Detroit area, please record these talks so that I may also participate in God’s grace through this event.
